Full Album Archive - VFC Mk17 SCAR-H
I picked this up almost brand new in the box from a friend. I was pretty excited to get a SCAR-H much less a high quality one such as the VFC.
Concept:
Year 1
Classic Army 7mm reinforced version 2 gearbox
Classic Army yellow polycarb piston
Classic Army anti-reversal latch
Guarder tappet plate
Guarder reinforced cylinder (type-0)
Guarder reinforced spring guide with bearing
Systema aluminum piston head with bearing
Guarder SP110 (360FPS)
Systema metal cylinder head
Systema torque up gearset (non-helical)
Vega Force Company air nozzle (proprietary)
Vega Force Company selector plate (proprietary)
Vega Force Company trigger (proprietary)
Vega Force Company wiring (required because of proprietary stock)
While disassembling the rifle for the review it became blatantly obviously the rifle was never going to last, so a completely new gearbox was built.
Year 1.10
Element Magpul MIAD replica pistol grip (custom fitted)
Ebaybanned PEQ15 replica (non-fuctioning)
With most of the internals overhauled I could start on the externals.
Through the first few months I focused on the externals, but I did add a few internal upgrades as well. I actually ordered these parts at the same time as the others, but due to China shipping they took some time to arrive.
Echo 1 SCAR-L barrel extension
Magpul REAL STEEL Angled For-grip (AFG)
Tango Down REAL STEEL SCAR Battlerail panels
Classic Army M120 (400FPS) spring
Madbull Black Python version 2 455mm 6.03mm tightbore
The last bits to arrive.
Year 1.25
RSOV Express replica Trijicon 4x32 ACOG with Doctors red-dot
Vega Force Company 3x SCAR-H 160rd Midcap (proprietary)
Ebaybanned replica Magpul MS2 sling
Year 2.0
RSOV replica Tango Down QD vertical
Tango Down REAL STEEL SCAR rail panels
Ebaybanned replica 7.62x51 20LR PMAG
The AFG was a terrible idea to be honest. It looked cool, but it was not functional on a short RIS like the SCAR.
Year 2.9
G&G 8mm version 2 gearbox (CA one broke due to a design flaw - this is what happens when you try to save money)
SHS Torque up helical gears (had them laying around and felt like testing them in my daily use rifle)
Prometheus Half tooth polycarb piston (CA one was showing extreme wear)
Pro&T Functioning PEQ15 w/ red laser and flashlight and pigtail
Tango Down REAL STEEL SCAR rail panels
Element AAC SCAR flash hider and suppressor
Element ACOG Killflash
Year 3.8
AABB Elcan Specter DR 1-4x replica scope courtesy of no6 custom painted to (semi) match a FDE Elcan
Vega Force Company 7.62 SCAR AAC suppressor
I finally broke down and bought the VFC suppressor, it's longer than the Element 5.56 can and suites the Heavy look much better.
Year 4.5
ACM EGLM Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module
BTC Spectre MOSFET (no holes drilled in the stock)
TCW R-hop modification
There was a sale....I couldn't help myself...
Year 4.11
JG M4/M16 Pistol Grip (FDE)
Car accident left the SCAR-H with a broken MIAD at the last game of the year so I opted to just get a standard M4/M16 grip again. The MIAD was nice, but I don't feel like paying that much for a new one (or waiting).
After a complete overhaul it's a very dependable field rifle, but it required a lot more work and money than a rifle in its price range should have.
